|Interior & Electronics: make life easier!|
Electronics: put your mind at ease!
Electronics are about everything that have to do with electricity in what they call: active components.
Electronics: no householding for now, but how to make living more pleasant!
In this section, I mainly want to give ideas on what kinds of electronics can make life in and around house more pleasant. I don't want to talk about the best vacuum cleaner or microwave ovens, as there are many sites that are way better in comparing these products, but more about how electronics that have a direct influence on your living experience. There are mainly the things that you wouldn't think of on the first instance, but which still deserve the attention, because they can positively influence your quality of living.
Although it can seem to be difficult and costly to install the technical goodies in your home, it always becomes easier and easier to do so!
Wall sockets & Switches
You don't need to have a big villa to be able to switch on your lamps or heater by remote control.
Electronic wise, a normal house won't need much modification. As long as the electricity is distributed well, you actually won't need to worry too much about that, as they usually don't want you to just change your wall sockets. After all, it's quite difficult to change an electricity layout of a home, as there are special rules and regulations according to the Buildings Decree. In new homes, the electricity wires are moreless integrated with the wall, so that it's going to be very hard to reach these wires. An (interior) architect usually already decided where to place the wall sockets and switches, which makes the application of changes even more difficult. What you can do is to buy new sockets and switches. These exist in different shapes and sizes, which have a big influence on your home's ambiance. What do you think of a switch with a lean design that also feels nice to use it? Sounds much more fun than an old, yellowish plastic switch to me...
What can also help to make living more comfortable is is electronical pest control.
One of the annoyances people have to deal with is pest: spiders, moquitos, or even mice that are munching everywhere, bringing excrements and diseases with them too. On the page about electronical pest control, you can read more about keeping them out of your house with some help of home electronics.
Electronical climate control can cost a lot of energy, but it can sometimes be necessary to live comfortably at home. Sunshades can keep a great deal of the heat outside, but some people can have respiratory problems if the humidity in the air is too high or too low. Astma patients for example, who have very sensitive lungs, or older people who can't stand an abundance of moisture in the air. Electronic climate control is also the only possibility to really cool down the temperature of the air.
Although I don't think we should be too paranoid about security, we can't deny that not everyone can be trusted all the time.
Domotics / Home automation
And... Last but not least, we have domotics, also known as home automation. Domotics give you the opportunity to manage your home from one point: the lighting, the heating, the sunshades, and even your curtains! If you want to, you can even have this all regulated automatically so that you don't even have to worry about it! This is also one of the predecessors of ubiquitous computing: computers everywhere! With one push on the button, you can open shutters and doors, decide which lights can go on or even how warm you want your home exactly to the degree! On the page about domotics you can read more about this.
Electronics: no essential necessity, but it is very pleasant!
In the end, we'll see that many electronics are not really necessary to spend your day, but it does make life a lot more easy! Not only does it give you an advantage through technology, like Audi always says, it also takes your home to the new generation of living with more comfort, where you can focus more on what's really important in life!
